Day 11: Killarney National Park and Blarney Castle

Today was another travel day: Dingle to Cork with two important stops in between. Firstly, we booked horseback riding through Killarney National Park for a story to tell and boy, do we have one! The weather cooperated as we meandered through the park with lovely young tour guide ladies. Ava offered to take my camera and take a few photos of us. The others were taken by me, being so brave while Pudding (my horse!) trotted along. Well actually, when she was actually trotting I was definitely not taking photos! Francene rode on Tommy who was a good boy horse. Check out the deer too!

From the stables, we continued on our journey, finding a small town for lunch called Macroom. Driving into the village we saw a banner for a music fest that ended yesterday, darn! We parallel parked (quite well I may add) and had lunch at TP Cotters.

Back in the car for about 40 minutes and then we arrived to Blarney Castle and Gardens. Wow! So much history, folklore, and beautiful flowers! Of course we climbed to the top of the castle to kiss the infamous Blarney Stone…I was a little scared but the men helping use their legs to hold you up 😳

We spent a couple of hours at Blarney because there was so much to see, then traveled the remaining 25 minutes to our Cork hotel. We were exhausted after a busy day so we stayed in and relaxed at the hotel restaurant for a quite dinner then Ali headed to the pool (because why not?!).

On tap for tomorrow: exploring Cobh, Cork City, and Kinsale!
